Classical Music in Cartoons

Many of us got our first exposure to classical music through Looney Tunes. Iconic scenes such as Bugs Bunny wearing a viking helmet to a Wagner soundtrack, or Elmer Fudd participating in the Marriage of Figaro are part of American film history. For this experience, the musicians will play these famous pieces, demonstrate how they were originally conceived to be performed, and how they ended up in animated films. Students will see an entertaining and educational glimpse into the worlds of classical music and animation.
